The Lima Historical Society will present a program on the Sullivan Campaign of the Revolutionary War on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Lima Court House, next to the Town Hall.
Livingston County Historian, Amie Alden will give a presentation on a historical topic of considerable local interest for the September general meeting. She will discuss the significant events that transpired in the local area over a four- day period in September of 1779. These events changed the course of American history and set the stage for the opening of the Genesee Valley to non-native settlement.
The program also examines the subsequent anniversaries and commemorations that illustrate the lasting legacy of the Sullivan Campaign on Livingston County. The meeting is free and open to the public.
