The kindergarten and first grade students at Honeoye Falls-Lima’s Lima Primary School not only read books and had books read to them during Read Across America week last month, but they also helped spread the love of reading to others.
The students celebrated Read Across America week March 13-17 with guest readers and other activities, including reading by themselves. They also collected four boxes full of books for children in Uganda.
“We did this last year as well,” said Lima Primary librarian Tami Pulver. “Last year, we had one boxful that we donated to a library in Uganda that Collins Alinaitwe built in Uganda to memorialize his brother who was killed in a car accident in Uganda.”
