Volunteers, plant swap, and raffle prizes planned for May 16th event

The Mendon Community Business Association (MCBA) is calling on all Mendon businesses and residents to come together for its annual Spring Beautification event on Saturday, May 16th, from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the Mendon Station information kiosk, located right along the Lehigh Valley Trail. Coffee and breakfast treats will be provided. All participating volunteers will be entered into a raffle prize giveaway.
As the trees come into bloom, the MCBA is eager to turn the season’s natural beauty into a more colorful and welcoming hamlet and surrounding areas. Participants are encouraged to plant annuals or perennials in their yards, freshen up existing garden beds with weeding and mulch, or help a senior neighbor with their spring clean-up.

And, again this year, the event will feature a plant swap. Residents are welcome to bring divided perennials or extra annuals to exchange with fellow community members. Plant donations may also be dropped off in advance at the kiosk area at Mendon Station Park.

The MCBA also extends special recognition to the Mendon Foundation for its ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the Lehigh Valley Trail — a beloved community asset used year-round by walkers, runners, cyclists, dog walkers, and equestrians.
