The Mendon Fire Department Auxiliary, local Girl Scouts, and volunteers for the Mendon Public Library volunteered at the Mendon Fire Department Carnival on Saturday, June 4, giving away free books and sharing information about the Mendon Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.

During the Carnival, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, volunteers from the Girl Scouts shared books from the Monroe County Library’s Books by Bike. Following that, library staff, leadership and volunteers passed out free books and Summer Reading Program information during the Parade. In total, nearly 800 books were distributed. Additionally, information about the Library’s Summer Reading Program “Oceans of Possibilities” was shared.

Everyone in the community is encouraged to join library staff for the opening party of the Summer Reading Program. “Magic, Music, and Games with Amazing Magic Joe: Opening Party for SRP 2022” is scheduled to kick off this fun reading and learning program at the Mendon Public Library on Wednesday, June 22 from 6:30-7:30 PM. All are welcome.  Throughout the summer, the library will offer reading incentives and fun programs for folks of all ages.

This summer, the Mendon Public Library will be open M-Th 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
