Honoring our first responders is something that New York State Senator Pam Helming takes enormous pride in doing and at a recent event was able to recognize one such individual for 70 years of dedicated service to the Rush Fire Department.
Firefighter and Past Chief Alvin “Al” Sweet has spent a lifetime volunteering and serving the community of Rush as a firefighter since 1953. Al Sweet served as Fire Chief from 1967-1974 and has witnessed the growth and evolution of the department during its 103 years of existence.
Senator Helming presented Chief Sweet with a New York State Senate Proclamation at Rush Fire Department’s Recognition Banquet held at the Wildwood Country Club.
