The Scottsville Midweek Farmers’ Market announces its 9th season, beginning on June 6 and running through September 26, with no market on July 4. The market is held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. every Wednesday except July 4, rain or shine (except in case of lightning), in the parking lot of the Smith-Warren Post 367 American Legion at 61 Main Street in Scottsville.
Vendors will offer fresh local produce and eggs, dry rubs and other seasonings, sauces, pickles, olive oils, vinegars, honey and honey beauty products, baked goods, jams and jellies, cut flowers, artisan cheeses, and hard cider. FMNP vouchers are accepted. In addition to the goods available for purchase, every week there is a free drawing for a gift basket of vendor donated items.
Also weekly, community groups will have meals available for purchase, and free family activities will run from 4:30–6:00 pm.
Events currently scheduled for the first month of the season are:
• June 6 OPENING DAY: Wheatland Recreation Summer Camp signup.
• June 13: Pet Adoption – Come and find your new best friend! Sponsored by One Love Pet Adoptions. (This event will be happening most Wednesdays; check our Facebook page for updates.)
• June 20: Live music by Brett Lighthouse.
• June 27: Learn about perennials and tree saplings from Village Forestry Board members, possibly with some plants available.
