Though Honeoye Falls hasn’t celebrated Village Days in a few years, two of the local artists who participated as Village Days vendors for many years have been selling their goods right here in our area. Both Gail Worboys and Marty Guenther had to find other outlets for their artwork when not only Village Days ended but also all local craft shows were cancelled due to the pandemic.

Luckily, right in our community, a new shop that supports local women entrepreneurs, The WE Shop in Lima, opened in 2020 and gave both women a welcome home for their artwork.

Honeoye Falls resident Gail Worboys, whose business is called Reflections (stainedglassgiftideas.com), has lovely stained-glass artwork, featuring birds, flowers, geometric designs and much more. Gail gets her inspiration from nature and her surroundings. She also welcomes custom orders for people looking for that something special. Items such as wedding invitations, windowpanes, nativity sets and local pieces are some of the custom projects she has completed. Gail loved participating in Village Days and the venue was happy to have such a unique and talented artist join them. A popular item at Village Days was her Iron Fireman ornament!

Marty Guenther’s photos are in vibrant colors – her motto is “Nice Pictures of Normal Things”. The product selection includes the ever-popular blank notecards, framed photos, matted and unframed photos as well as larger canvas images. Repeat customers would return to her booth each year at Village Days to stock up on a supply of note cards for all occasions. Many of her photos are from Mendon, Rush, Honeoye Falls, the Finger Lakes and Western New York, as well as images from her travels. Now customers can shop locally at the WE Shop year round! To contact Marty directly or for a more extensive selection of Marty’s images, please visit her website at www.decoratography.com.

There are over 30 vendors at the WE Shop, many from our local area. In addition to stained glass and photography, vendors sell artwork and crafts such as furniture, jewelry, knitted items, children’s clothes, sports and local items, candles and soaps, botanicals, home décor, etc. There are so many gift items, so plan on spending a while browsing the store. There is always something new to look at, with stock changing by season. Vendors take different shifts working at the store, so make a plan to visit today! The WE Shop is open Wed & Thursday from 10-6, and Friday-Sunday from 10-2 at 7310 E. Main Street in Lima, right near the American Hotel. We hope you will come see what the shop has to offer and support our community’s businesses.
