The 14th annual Mr. HF-L male beauty pageant was held at the High School Auditorium on May 11th at 7:30 pm. The seats were filled with students, parents, teachers and community members.
This presentation is put on each year by the HF-L Interact Club. This club (sponsored by the HFM Rotary) is made up of students in grades 9-12 and its mission is to teach leadership and volunteerism, both locally and globally. The students use this performance to reimburse the Interact’s funds for the following year so they may carry out their volunteer activities. Any additional proceeds are donated to the students’ charity of choice for the year.
The Mr. HF-L contestants are senior boys who perform a group dance, each perform a “talent,” and each perform a question and answer session wearing their formal attire. They are competing for the grand prize of $500 which is donated by the HFM Rotary Club. This year’s Mr. HF-L recipient was CJ Tomaszewski who performed a song he had written for his talent!
At the end of the show, the Interact Club donated over $1,700 to this year’s charity: The Ontario County Humane Society!
It was a proud and successful night for everyone involved!
