The thunderstorm that ripped through the area last Monday, June 21st, left a lot of cleanup to do for homeowners and town highway departments and caused power outages for several hours in the area.

For some people trying to travel from the city of Rochester to the southern and eastern portions of Monroe County, it was like a maze because so many streets were blocked due to downed trees. Trees blocked the road on Pittsford-Mendon Road (Route 64), West Bloomfield Road, Mendon Center Road, and Clover Street (Route 65). There were trees blocking the roads within Mendon Ponds Park on Canfield Road, Pond Road and Hopkins Point Road.

Fortunately, there were no known injuries caused by the storm.
