Bird lovers, families, and hikers come and join us for bird walks along the Lehigh Valley Trail, Taylor Marsh in Honeoye, Sibleyville Nature Preserve, a Mendon Foundation property on Pittsford-Mendon Road and Ganondagan. Geoff Gretton and Connie Kellogg, long time bird enthusiasts, will lead the walks. Join us and identify and observe a variety of birds by song and sight.

Dates & Locations of Walks: 

  • May 6th: Taylor Marsh in Honeoye – A unique opportunity to explore the wetlands of Taylor Marsh and possibly see Sandhill Cranes. Rugged conditions, waterproof boots recommended. Join the Bergen Swamp Preservation Society (the owners of the property) on their annual pilgrimage. Meet at Mendon Church, 936 Cheese Factory Rd. at 7:15am to carpool or at the marsh at 7:45am www.bergenswamp.org
  • May 13th: Sibleyville Nature Reserve – Mendon Foundation Property. Take 15A to Plains Road. The parking lot will be about 2/10 of a mile on the right off Plains Road.
  • May 20th: Honeoye Haven Mendon Foundation Property – 1136 Pittsford-Mendon Center Rd. Park across the street off the road.The group will meet there for directions.
  • May 27th: Ganondagan -7191 County Road 41 (Boughton Hill Road) Victor, NY 14564 – We will meet in the Seneca Art and Culture Center parking lot. http://www.ganondagan.org/

Meet at 7:45 a.m. sharp. All bird walks begin at 8:00 a.m.. Be sure to wear appropriate weather gear and hiking shoes. Do not forget your binoculars and camera.
