Three Wheatland-Chili seniors in the Newspaper and Creative Writing Club submitted mini-sagas to the Young Writers Mission Catastrophe contest last year. All three had their work published in a book produced by Young Writers.

The students are Ryley St. Rose-Finear, Eboni Colangelo, and Ben Miller. Young Writers encourages young writers to read, write, and enjoy poetry as well as creative writing.

“The Newspaper and Creative Writing Club students put forth an incredible amount of effort in brainstorming, drafting, and developing their “catastrophe” mini-sagas,” said co-advisor and English teacher, Adrienne Loftus. “Not only did students persevere through the writing, their final product was so skilled that they were published! I am tremendously proud of each student’s hard work, persistence, and finished piece.”

Teachers Brian Glass and Adrienne Loftus are the co-advisors of the Wheatland-Chili High School Newspaper and Creative Writing Club. Young Writers sent a copy of the book and it is available at the Wheatland-Chili High School Library.
