Mendon Post Office Clerk Adam Pierce was honored by the Quilts of Valor Foundation on February 20 in the common area of the Mendon Meadows Marketplace.

Pierce, a retired United States Navy Chief Aviation Ordnanceman, was honored for his military service by the Quilts of Valor Foundation, which presented him with a quilt.

According to the Quilts of Valor (QOV) national website, the mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

Barb Frost, who is presenting the quilt to Pierce, founded Finger Lakes QOV in February of 2016.
