Sometimes you just have to put things out to the universe and see if the universe answers. “I had put it out to the universe for many years,” Yoga Love owner Niki Januzzi told us, “that by the time I turned 40, I would own my own yoga studio.” In Niki’s case, the universe answered in the fall of 2019.
That answer came in the form of a “For Rent” sign in the window at 4 Ontario St. in the Village of Honeoye Falls. We’re happy to announce the good news that Yoga Love is celebrating its 5th anniversary, because right out of the gate there was some news that wasn’t so good.
Have any of you connected the dots on the timing of Niki’s opening and the historical calendar? It would be a scant 3½ months before Covid came calling to shut down all non-essential businesses. “It was a very tough journey after reopening for folks to come back to in-person classes,” Niki told us. “I feel that if I made it through that, I can make it through anything. I am so proud to offer a yoga studio within our community that is close enough for folks to drive a short distance, or even walk to or ride their bikes.”
About securing the location she currently occupies, Niki shared with us, “I had already been teaching in the community for 10 years, but had never had a space to call my own. I wanted to create a business and fulfill the concepts I had been hoping for. Many feel, and I agree that Yoga Love is a safe and welcoming space and a refuge of calm. As soon as one walks through the doors, you feel that serene energy.”
Yoga Love offers many different classes for adults and sometimes kids too, and they have a “Baby and Me” class coming in January. And it is not just yoga! They offer Pilates, Feldenkrais, Sound healing, Kirtan, Intuitive healing, and more. These classes are taught by a variety of teachers sharing their gifts from a diverse background of experience and training.
Niki also offers private sessions at the studio or offsite. She specializes in private group sessions, such as bachelorette get togethers, birthday celebrations, etc. She also teaches many outdoor offerings in our community and surrounding communities in the warm weather months.
She loves serving the community when opportunities present themselves for her to teach in locations outside her studio. For example, Niki teaches yoga to the varsity athletes at the high school, to local scouting groups, and she also teaches once or twice a year at the local libraries.
Regarding that 5th anniversary, Yoga Love will be celebrating with an Open House on Friday, January 17th from 6:00-8:00pm. They will have many of the teachers present to chat with folks about what they teach at the studio. There will also be some light snacks and a raffle for classes and other related prizes.
