In general, it’s a bad idea to elect players to the hall of fame immediately after they retire. It’s better to wait a few years to see how history interprets their accomplishments. The years allow for a more sober – and objective – reflection on the individuals. Why, then, do some insist on acting in a knee-jerk fashion when someone who’s famous for being famous dies?
