Students from art teacher Kelly Recktenwald’s class at the Honeoye Falls Lima High School participated in a contest to design the art that will be on the Festival on the Green 5K race t-shirts. Students in Ms. Recktenwald’s class have produced the 5K shirt design for several years now.

This year, 24 student designs were in contention for the T-shirt design and the winning artwork was done by senior Bryce Warren. Bryce’s design is a representation of the falls in blue and green.

Also this year, another student’s art work, senior Anna Scott , will be showcased through art prints given to the first place finishers in the 5K race in different age groups. Anna’s work is a pen and ink representation of the falls.

The Honeoye Falls Festival on the Green Committee expresses its thanks to Ms. Recktenwald and her students for participating in the contest and making some great art for the community.

The 5K race and 1 Mile run/walk will be he held on Friday evening June 15 at 6 p.m. The start and finish of the race is at Monroe Street Park. Race proceeds will support Benincasa Hospice in Mendon. A major sponsor for the Festival on the Green 5K is the KJT Group in Honeoye Falls. Entry forms for the 5K race and 1 mile run or walk can be found at www.festivalonthegreen.us
