The Flag Day program “America…A Proud Nation” featured the students from the seven second-grade classes at the school.

All of the students participated in the song “We Love the USA” as they proceeded onto the stage from the back of the auditorium. Mrs. Fleming’s class sang “The United States” which features each one of the 50 states. Following all the students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, Mrs. Leonard’s class used sign language along with singing “The Star Spangled Banner”. All the students sang “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”.

Mrs. Patton’s class sang “America, America”. Mrs. Graney’s class performed the songs “Yankee Doodle” and the “Grand Old Flag”. All the students sang “Thank You Soldiers” while a slideshow showed photos of the students’ family members who had served in the military and they also took part in the “Taps Prologue” which featured each branch of the armed forces.

Mr. Fallon’s class used sign language while singing “America the Beautiful”. Mrs. Erickson’s class sang and played instruments for “Famous Americans” which includes the names of many famous Americans from all walks of life. Mrs. Schilstra’s class concluded the program by singing “Proud to be an American”.
