Lima Primary School students celebrated National School Bus Safety week with an assembly and drills last week.
An assembly was held last Friday (October 21) for the students and some drivers from the school district helped children learn about exiting the vehicles safely during an emergency from the back of the bus with actual drills. The event was coordinated by HF-L Director of Transportation Cynthia Peterson, said Lima Primary School Principal Allison Cimmerer.
“They went through the safety drills like exiting out of the back of the bus and relocating to a safe area,” Cimmerer said. “The bus drivers do these safety drills throughout the year. We did a drill back in September and did one in August for the incoming kindergartners.”
