With the New Year’s arrival, it’s a great time to start getting healthy, and one of many ways to tone up is through practicing yoga. Luckily, Honeoye Falls has a studio close to home and perfect for beginners as well as advanced yogis.

Based at 5 West Main Street, Yoga with Niki creates a mellow and soothing atmosphere. Owner Niki Januzzi offers a variety of yoga classes for all ages and skill sets. Januzzi’s Vinyasa Flow classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday mornings as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Having taken her classes, I can say her Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes are enlightening, energetic and fun.

“Monday and Wednesday mornings are gentle classes, perfect for beginners or anyone interested in a more mellow practice,” says Januzzi. “Tuesday and Thursday evenings are level 1-2 classes. These classes are great for someone starting out who is ready for a challenge or someone looking to deepen their practice. Also, modifications can be made for all to enjoy.”

Januzzi is originally from Delevan, New York, and studied dance and arts for children at SUNY Brockport. She also spent a semester in Jamaica. In addition, she received her yoga certification from Sonic Yoga in New York City in 2010 and has been teaching Yoga since then.

She also offers gift cards, private lessons and yoga class packages.

On Saturday mornings in the summer, she offers outdoor gentle yoga classes at Bloomfield Gardens at 2 Lehigh Street in Honeoye Falls that are free with donation. The class is gentle and spending time out in the summer sun is a great way to start your Saturday.

Find her hours and schedule on Facebook, search “Yoga With Niki”, or contact her at (585) 737-2934 or nikih88@yahoo.com,

She will be holding a Tween/Teen yoga workshop every Tuesday from 5:15-6:15 p.m., January 10th to February 7th. Ages may range from 12 to 16 and the cost for the five weeks is $50.00.
