Karen Mireau Rimmer is looking for area residents’ stories and memories of Mendon’s Cottage Hotel to be included in a book about the history of The Cottage Hotel.
A native of Upstate New York, Mireau Rimmer is the founder of Azalea Art Press which specializes in helping others to write and publish beautiful, meaningful and imaginative books. As a young girl, she loved writing stories and exploring the lakes, rivers and woodlands of the area. She also discovered a passion for poetry.
After graduating from the University of Rochester, Mireau Rimmer landed a career writing for television and film. She worked as an executive assistant to former NBC CEO Grant Tinker and President Brandon Tartikoff and then co-founded an animation company that created “Kissyfur” and “Foofur”, two Saturday morning shows for NBC and the animated Troubles the Cat, which ran on the Cartoon Network.
In 2008, she decided to help people write their life stories and founded Azalea Art Press, a boutique publishing company. She is currently working on a history of The Cottage Hotel in Mendon and would love to receive submissions of stories and remembrances about The Cottage; you will receive a free e-book and full credit (and stories can be anonymous if you choose). She can be reached at CottageHotelStories@gmail.com.
