Causewave Community Partners has presented its 41st annual Lantern Award to Mike McDougall, APR, Fellow PRSA, president of McDougall Communications, recognizing his two decades of volunteer service to the organization.
Founded in 1950, Causewave collaborates with more than 200 non-profits and civic organizations each year for capacity building and community impact initiatives. Its efforts are supported by corporations, foundations, and individuals, with hundreds of professionals volunteering their time and expertise.
Beginning in 1998, McDougall has provided communications counsel, strategic planning and execution assistance to a range of Causewave programs. Starting shortly after he moved to Rochester to take a position at marketing communications agency Buck & Pulleyn, his volunteering continued during his tenure at Eastman Kodak Company, Bausch & Lomb and now his eponymous firm.
He currently serves on Causewave’s Board of Directors and is a member of the organization’s W.B. Potter Society.
Accepting the award at the group’s annual breakfast celebration, McDougall noted that Causewave’s success has only been made possible by thousands of volunteers, and encouraged others to share their talents and become involved.
McDougall Communications, founded in 2011, is focused on helping clients across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific meet their business objectives through a range of communications services, including strategic planning, media and influencer relations, reputation and crisis counsel, and social media management.
