The children of Jim and Anne Dollard have begun a charitable foundation in their parents’ names to further their good works. The foundation awarded its initial scholarships this year to students in the graduating class of 2017 at Caledonia-Mumford and at Honeoye Falls-Lima, where Jim served as the high school principal for many years. Emma Rowe received the scholarship at HF-L. To sustain those scholarship awards and to provide meaningful assistance to organizations which Jim and Anne supported in their lifetimes, the first annual “Jim & Anne” Golf Tournament will be held on August 26 at Lima Country Club, 7470 Chase Road, Lima.
Golfers and foursomes can complete registration at the course after 11:00 a.m.. There will be opportunities to purchase mulligans and tickets for raffle prizes. A 12:30 p.m. shotgun start is planned, but golfers are encouraged to show up early enough to hit a few balls and enjoy a Zweigle’s hot dog among good company before hitting the links. There will be a putting contest in the midst of the golf rounds. A dinner will follow the golf where results will be shared and prizes awarded.
Perhaps you’re not a golfer or maybe the date does not work for you. Please do not be discouraged if you have an interest in helping the foundation but logistics prevent you from attending the event. We will be grateful to anyone who can help in any way!
Visit https://www.dollardfoundation.org/shop to register for golf as either a single or a foursome. If you can get to Lima Country Club that day but only to break bread and not golf, you will see a way to register for the dinner. And if neither of those scenarios is good for you but you want to lend a hand, you will see a way to make a gift to the foundation on that page. Please leave a note when you make your donation so that the Dollard children can provide a thank you (you can choose to remain anonymous, of course!). Any way that you can be involved with this effort will make a big difference. Please know in advance how grateful the Dollard children are to be in the midst of so many good people. They hope to see you there.
