Sunshine and comfortable temperatures made eating outside a pleasure last Friday (June 13) at the annual Lima Primary School’s Teddy Bear Picnic.

The kindergarten and first-grade students were able to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the picnic. The children and their moms, dads or grandparents enjoyed typical picnic fare outside on the school’s lawn on the west side of the building by the playground. The picnic, like the Flag Day activities that also happened the same day, is a tradition that marks the nearing of the conclusion of the school year.

Students brought a wide variety of stuffed animals and even some dolls to the picnic. While Teddy Bears of all sizes and colors were the most prevalent, other stuffed animals were also seen clutched in the hands of their young owners. Those other “little friends” were dogs, cats, tigers, cougars, leopards, rabbits, monkeys, turtles, frogs, fish, dinosaurs, squirrels, chipmunks and raccoons.
