The September 7th meeting of the Honeoye Falls – Mendon Historical Society will feature Donovan Shilling. His topic will be “Conversations With DeWitt Clinton”.

Shilling regularly portrays DeWitt Clinton and creates fascinating miniature scenes of the Rochester area. He is an author of a number of books in the Images of America series: Rochester’s Lakeside Resorts and Amusements Parks, Rochester’s Downtown, Rochester Labor and Leisure and, most recently, Rochester Transportation.

Shilling is a retired middle school science teacher and administrator. He has taught classes on local history to adults at the Rochester Museum and Science Center for more than 25 years. He is the chronicler for the New Society of the Genesee. This Society has its roots in The Crooked Lake Review — a publication for which several of HF-M’s members submitted articles. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 7th at the Mendon Community Center, 167 North Main Street, Honeoye Falls. This facility is handicapped accessible. The meeting is open to the public. For information call 624-5655.
