As a new school year begins, Lima Christian School (LCS) announced recently that it raised more than $392,000 during the 2025–2026 fiscal year, an increase of $50,000 over the prior year and the largest fundraising total the school has seen in at least eight years. The milestone caps a year the school describes as one of extraordinary provision and answered prayer, a year that also included hiring 15 new teachers and staff during the summer of 2025 amid a well-documented regional teacher shortage.
That hiring effort, which brought on roughly 44 percent of the school’s total staff of 34, came at a time when schools across the region struggled to fill classrooms. School leaders attribute both the staffing success and the record-making donations to God’s faithfulness.
“Every teacher who served, every family who enrolled, and every dollar given was a provision from God,” said Michael Blankenship, Head of School at Lima Christian School. “In a year when schools all around us were struggling just to find qualified staff, the Lord supplied faculty for our classrooms and resources for our mission, and we give Him all the glory.”
The fundraising milestone reflects the generosity of a wide community of supporters. More than one hundred and twenty alumni, current and former families, grandparents, church partners, and friends of the school gave sacrificially to advance Christ-centered education in Livingston County.
These gifts are already at work. LCS has completed a new sensory room that students will begin using this fall, giving children who need it a dedicated space to regulate and refocus during the school day. The school has also revamped its network infrastructure through a partnership with Rochester-based Simple Tech Innovations, strengthening the technology backbone that supports classrooms across campus.
“This kind of generosity does not happen by accident. It is a direct reflection of the trust our community places in this school’s mission,” said Dan Briggs, Chair of the LCS School Board. “As a board, we are grateful and encouraged by what this year has shown about the strength and commitment of the Lima Christian community, and we look forward to building on that momentum in the year ahead.”

Lima Christian School will continue to build on this momentum as it welcomed students back for the new school year on September 2.
