Lima Historical Society presents Destination: Long Point Park, a program by Lore and Vince DiSalvo on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Lima Town Hall in the Legion Room on the first floor.
Travel back in time, as the Friends of Long Point Historians, Lore and Vince DiSalvo, share old photos and exhibits of the historical Long Point Park on Conesus Lake. The speakers will give a brief history of the park, beginning with James Wadsworth’s gift in 1844 of the magnificent Long Point Grove, dedicated by his will as a “picnic grounds for all time.” The original park encompassed 25 acres and was unsurpassed in its beauty.
Come and enjoy this presentation on this well remembered spot in Livingston County. Experience why people travelled by foot, horseback, steamboat, rowboat, carriage, bicycle, train and automobile to Destination: Long Point Park. The program is free and open to the public.
