The Mendon Public Library will present a program on a Rochester area war hero Mr. Abbott’s Wars: Rochester’s Most Decorated Soldier on Tuesday, July 25, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the library.
You will learn about Rochester hero Robert Noe Abbott at this SRP History Talk, which is for teens and adults. Lt. Cl. Abbott was a soldier who served in the World War II and Korea, was captured by communists in Korea, returned to Rochester to serve as Monroe County Director of Defense, and died tragically in a helicopter crash during Rochester’s ‘64 race riots. Learn about this remarkable man from the author of his biography, Dr. Jeffrey Ludwig, and Mr. Abbott’s daughter, Roberta Buckle. A Book signing will be available. Call 624-6067 to register.
