Meet Lyla Grills, Mendon Public Library’s (MPL) new director. Lyla joins the library with nearly twenty years of experience in the Monroe County Library System, most recently as a Young Adult librarian at Penfield Public Library.
The Mendon Public Library Board of Trustees was impressed with Lyla’s development of creative, inclusive programming for teens, ongoing Monroe County Library System committee service, and steadfast commitment to professional enrichment while working at the Penfield Public Library.
MPL Board of Trustees President Cristina Romig said, “Lyla’s service record is reflective of her spirit and dedication to enhancing the quality of life in the communities she serves. We are thrilled to have her join our library.”
Lyla looks forward to meeting community members and welcomes ideas and comments. Feel free to stop in and say hello or email her at lyla.grills@libraryweb.org.
Lyla replaces Laurie Guenther who retired after serving the Mendon community for more than 25 years as library director.
