NYSEG and RG&E, subsidiaries of AVANGRID (NYSEG: AGR), are preparing for the warmer weather this summer by offering customers a chance to enroll in our Smart Savings Rewards program. This innovative program gives participants a chance to begin saving money on their energy bills. By enrolling a connected smart thermostat in Smart Savings Rewards, customers agree to let NYSEG or RG&E make brief, limited adjustments to the connected smart thermostat during times of peak summer electricity demand. As a thank you for participating, customers receive an $85 e-gift card for each enrolled, eligible connected smart thermostat, and can earn $5 bill credits for each adjustment event they fully participate in. The event adjustment season runs through September 30. Customers can opt out of an adjustment event at any time.

Connected smart thermostats make it easy and convenient for customers to manage their home’s energy use. It’s easy to switch thermostats, and NYSEG/RG&E will help reduce the cost of a new connected smart thermostat with the $85 enrollment incentive. Once installed, customers can adjust their thermostat on the go from their smartphone or any internetconnected device, or simply set an automatic schedule that optimizes their energy usage based on their routine.
To be eligible, the connected smart thermostat must be used to control a central air conditioning system. Customers can choose from 27 models of connected smart thermostats available from Nest, Honeywell, Alarm.com, Vivint, Sensi, ecobee, Radio Thermostat and Lux.
