The Honeoye Falls Village Board invites the public to attend a presentation on the potential for the village to become a “Global Hub for Green Technology” for Upstate New York and the United States on August 25 at 7 p.m. at the Town of Mendon Community Center on North Main Street in the village.

The presentation will be done by two Rochester Institute of Technology Professors Dr Roman Press and Prof. Gerald Takacs, along with students from RIT. The presentation stems from the past work of General Motors and their hydrogen technology as well as the new HYZON business here in the community. Among the highlights of the presentation are discussion of renewable energy sources such as Biomass, Geothermal, Hydroelectric, Municipal Solid Waste, Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal, Wind, Tidal and Wave. It will also discuss the drivers behind the Hydrogen economy, world trends in hydrogen energetics, H2 infrastructure problems and possible solutions, advantages of hydrogen energetics and safety information and the possible building of a Renewable Energetics Center, consisting of a hydrogen refueling station, a museum to provide a hands-on, inquiry-based lifelong learning experience through exhibits, programs and films, and entertainment and education facilities.
