While it’s called “Rochester Sports Chiropractic” we want to immediately dispel a couple misconceptions that moniker may generate. This chiropractic doctor’s office, located at 10 Assembly Drive in the hamlet of Mendon, is an independent operation located in Mendon and not a part of some greater Rochester franchise.
Furthermore, while there is a niche within the services provided by Dr. Keven Hagen that focuses on sports, his medical expertise spans the treatment of any issues regarding mobility, pain, and healthy maintenance of the body.
“When I opened the Mendon office,” Keven told us, “my goal was to create a more personalized healthcare experience. I wanted patients to feel comfortable, unrushed, and genuinely cared for. Rather than moving quickly from one patient to the next, I wanted to build relationships and spend the time necessary to understand each individual’s goals, lifestyle, and health concerns.”
Throughout Keven’s education and career, he has developed a strong interest in sports-related injuries, movement-based recovery, and helping active individuals stay healthy long-term. He is also a Titleist Certified Medical Professional Level 2, which allows him to work closely with golfers on mobility, performance, and injury prevention. Golf is a major part of the local community, so that certification has been especially meaningful for many of Keven’s patients.
“I chose to open Rochester Sports Chiropractic in Mendon because of my connection to the town and the people who live here,” Keven shared. “Some of my earliest memories involve attending the Mendon Fire Department carnival as a child, and I even had a Looney Tunes savings account at CNB when I was five years old! It’s a community that has always been a part of my life.”
Keven feels that Mendon has a unique small-town feel that is becoming harder to find. People genuinely care about one another here, and there is a strong sense of pride in supporting local businesses and neighbors. Whether it’s seeing familiar faces around town, talking with patients at local events, or simply running into people at the grocery store, there’s a real sense of connection in the community that makes Mendon special.
Furthermore, Keven added that, “My first job was at Mendon Meadows Marketplace when I was younger, and I often say my last job will probably be here in Mendon as well. Staying connected to this community has always been important to me, and being able to build my practice in the same town that played such a large role in my upbringing has been incredibly meaningful.” His parents, brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces (1 and 4) still live in the area.
After graduating from Pittsford Mendon High School, Keven attended the University of Iowa for undergraduate studies before earning his chiropractic degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences in Seneca Falls, New York.
Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing, biking along the Erie Canal and the Lehigh Valley Trail with his girlfriend, Yulia, hiking through Mendon Ponds Park, and kayaking throughout the Finger Lakes together. “Staying active has always been an important part of my life, and I think that helps me better connect with many of the patients I work with every day,” Keven said. “I’ve always believed that movement, exercise, and healthy habits play a major role in overall wellness, and I try to bring that mindset into the care I provide. My long-term vision is to continue creating a place where patients can access multiple aspects of health, recovery, and wellness in a comfortable community setting.”
In addition to providing personalized care, the office is also in-network with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and MVP Health Care, helping make treatment more accessible for many local patients.
