Students at Honeoye Falls-Lima’s Lima Primary School celebrated Flag Day and the school’s annual Teddy Bear Picnic last Friday (June 12) and the weather cooperated for both events.

The kindergarten and first-grade students participated in the Flag Day celebration early in the morning. The Teddy Bear picnic saw the students, their parents or grandparents and younger siblings eating lunch out on the school’s lawn by the playground on the west side of the building. The kindergarten and first-grade students were able to bring their favorite stuffed animal to school for the picnic.

There were a wide variety of stuffed animals seen clutched in the hands of their young owners. While teddy bears of all sizes and colors seemed to be the most prevalent, other favorite “little friends” were dogs, cats, cougars, rabbits, monkeys, turtles, frogs, fish, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks and even a dinosaur.
