Congratulations to Ryan Elliott, RJ Schickler, and Matthew Stansbury of Mendon Troop 215, who recently celebrated earning their Eagle Scout rank. All three young men started in the scouting program as first graders and have worked up the ranks towards scouting’s highest achievement. Each of them had to complete a major service project which benefited a non-profit organization in the area.
Ryan Elliott designed and built garbage receptacles for the Mendon Youth Baseball complex. R.J. Schickler constructed three walking bridges for the Friends of Webster Trails in the State Road Nature Preserve in Webster.
Matthew Stansbury built, stained, and installed 10 shelving units for Rochester area refugees associated with Saint’s Place in Pittsford. Ryan and Matthew just graduated from HF-L, and R.J. graduated from the Chesterton Academy of Rochester. RJ will attend Midland University in Nebraska, Ryan will attend Clarkson University, and Matthew will attend Alfred State College this fall.
