Tri-Star Electric is an electrical contracting company based near Honeoye Falls in the Town of Mendon. Tri-Star Electric is owned and operated by Isaac Wieboldt who has quite an interesting background. At 17 years old, Isaac started as an apprentice for Eberts Electric, a local company based in Pittsford, owned and operated by licensed master electrician John Eberts. Isaac eventually became a licensed electrician himself and sixteen years later, when John decided to retire from running his company full time, he agreed to sell it to Isaac.
Isaac enlisted in the Army National Guard shortly after his 18th birthday. He was assigned to the 105th Military Police Company based in Buffalo. In 2011 his unit was activated and sent to Iraq. Isaac turned 20 years old in Iraq and credits the experience with helping him mature quickly.
Isaac’s unit was again activated in the fall of 2012, this time in response to Hurricane Sandy. Isaac’s team was deployed to the Village of Island Park, just as the storm made landfall in Long Island. For their efforts rescuing residents from the rising floodwaters, Isaac and his team leader were awarded the New York State Medal for Valor. This is the highest military award bestowed by the State of New York.
Later Isaac went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Empire State University in Rochester. He currently serves as a Lieutenant for the Brighton Fire District. In a short time, Isaac has built Tri-Star Electric to a team of nearly a dozen electricians serving all of Monroe County, as well as the adjoining counties stretching all the way to Syracuse, serving both residential and commercial clients.
Isaac and his wife Amber moved to Mendon in 2022. “We ended up building a house here,” Isaac told us, “because this is where we found land to build and we wanted to raise our kids in the HF-L school district.” They have a daughter Reagan who is 6 and a son Austin who is 3.
Isaac considers building a team of skilled electricians at Tri-Star Electric, one of his proudest achievements. He feels that providing jobs for members of the local community is a high honor and a weighty responsibility.
