Riding on the wings of 3,386,245 mosquitos and four eagles, the Troop 10 paddlers completed a 68 mile journey from Cayuga Lake to Lake Ontario. In celebration of the Erie Canal’s bicentennial, this year’s adventure began in Cayuga Lake on August 10, 2017 and utilized the Erie Canal system, including all the locks, to travel to Lake Ontario at Oswego arriving on August 13, 2017. On August 9, 2017, the trip began with a service project at Montezuma Audubon Center where the Scouts removed invasive bushes to improve livelihood and protect the bird populations.

For their efforts, the Scouts will be recognized with the 50 Miler Patch from the BSA. This year’s attendees (left to right) were Scouts; Jason Tabit, Joseph Lochner, Zack Sequeira, Jake D’Aprile and Leaders; Luis Garcia, Chris Sequeira, Jennifer Lochner and Bob Bower, with special guest star appearance from David Cherry.
