The Stars and Stripes 5K VeteRun Committee is pleased to report that this past Veterans Day it had the largest turnout, ever! More than 250 runners laced up their sneakers and ran the beautiful 5K course through Mendon Ponds Park.
Organizers are so thankful for the runners and generous race sponsors who helped them raise more than $11,000 for Honor Flight Rochester in 2015. Over the past five years, the Stars and Stripes 5K VeteRun has donated more than $57,000 to Honor Flight Rochester with an additional gift to the Honeoye Falls Veterans’ Memorial. This year, organizers were able to distribute $2,250 to local veterans groups and organizations that provide services to veterans in Honeoye Falls/Mendon/Lima.
