The Festival 5K is run on Friday evening of the Festival-on-the-Green weekend in June. Each year, profits from the 5K are donated to local charities. Despite a smaller number of runners at the 2016 5K, the race raised $750. Because the 2016 festival revenues exceeded its costs, the festival committee was able to use $250 from the surplus and increase the charitable donation to $1000.
The $1000 was split two ways with The Kade Project and the FISH (Friends In Service Here) Food Cupboard each receiving $500 checks.
