HF-L Girl Scout 5th grade Junior Troop 60362 of Manor School journeyed to Carol and Ken Tomaszewski’s cafe, The KuGeR, on East Street in Honeoye Falls to learn about Business Ownership.

As a beautiful soprano voice lesson serenaded the group from a nearby room in Fallsview Academy, Ken and Carol discussed the ins and outs of creating a business vision and executing the plan with market research, and discussed the girls’ own business ideas. Ken shared his business origins in worm farming, which certainly struck some of the girls for its simple success.

The Tomaszewskis explained the market they saw in music lessons when their original academic tutoring Academy was not suceeding. Now, Fallsview Academy is the premiere lesson facility in Honeoye Falls. Ken also created the KJT Group, a successful market research and consulting firm that even ranked 16th out of 40 small businesses featured in the D&C’s 2018 Top Workplaces. The couple decided to open The KuGer cafe in otherwise underused space Fallsview used as a parent waiting room space.

The girls then finished off their visit with cocoa and The KuGeR’s famous rice crispie treats, homemade by Eva, as they enjoyed the ambiance of the cafe.
