The Honeoye Falls-Lima High School choirs traveled to Virginia Beach at the end of April to participate in the Virginia Beach Music Festival and the students came back not just with great memories but with honors as well.
While the students also enjoyed some fun in the sun during the trip from April 23-26, they competed at the music festival in front of collegiate judges.
The Freshmen Treble Choir received a “Superior” rating with all the judges scoring them above a 90. The High School Mixed Chorus also earned a “Superior” rating from the judges with their scores all averaging above a 90. The High School Select Choir garnered HF-L’s third “Superior” rating at the festival with the judges awarding them scores that averaged above a 90.
“The students also received written and recorded verbal feedback from the judges and, in addition, attended a clinic put on by the music festival,” choral director Ken Goold said. “All three groups performed with quality, focus and pride.”
