The Honeoye Falls-Mendon American Legion Post #664 conducted a very successful collection for area food cupboards on Saturday, January 20 at Honeoye Falls Marketplace.

Due to many hands, it collected food to keep the Food Closet stocked for the coming year. Legion members met various different people who gave them food and money for this worthwhile cause.

A special thanks goes to Legion Commander John Connelly along with Myron Lemperle, Bernie Squirrell, Wayne Menz, Don Menz, Bob Rinken, Walt Eckhardt, Wally Anderson, Dick Gatto, Tom Wallace, Jim Merzke and Mike Sweeney. The Legion also thanks Deric and Amy West for use of the store.

Due to the community’s generosity, the Legion packed and delivered 58 boxes of food and essentials and also raised $546.16 in money and gift cards.
