Honeoye Falls-Lima graduate Anthony Noto was honored with a proclamation in his honor declaring June 9 Anthony Noto Day in the HF-L community at an event at the high school auditorium.

Lima Village Mayor John Skiptunas organized the ceremony and read the proclamation. Along with Noto and his parents and siblings, Lima Town Supervisor Mike Falk, Honeoye Falls Village Mayor Rick Milne, Mendon Town Supervisor John Moffitt and Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School Superintendent Gene Mancuso were in attendance as well as representatives from State Assemblywoman Marge Byrnes’ office, State Senator Pam Helming’s office and U.S. Congresswoman Claudia Tenney’s office.

Noto won four New York State Public High School Athletic Association wrestling championships. He’s since achieved NCAA All American status wrestling for Lock Haven University as well as an Academic All American.  He was the 2021-2022 Mid-American Conference champion at 125 pounds and qualified for the NCAA championships and had a 31-3 record as a redshirt freshman. This year, he placed fourth at the NCAA Division 1 championships after winning his second consecutive individual MAC title at 125 pounds and posting a 34-4 record. He was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Year this year.  He continues to give back to the community by organizing wrestling clinics for HF-L youth wresting programs throughout the area.
