Lima Primary awarded their annual Comptroller Awards recently. Thomas Di Napoli, New York State comptroller, offers this award yearly. The guidelines are based on student achievement. The award recognizes students who have shown academic excellence and the potential for leadership through involvement in activities that improved their school. This is Lima’s fourth year awarding and recognizing first graders.

Each classroom teacher used the guidelines to nominate one child from their room. The awardees are Holly Smith, Addison Mixter, Annabelle Lugo, Anneleise Corey, Kasey Wise, Lydia Borgeson, and Siobhan Neenan. At the award ceremony, it was noted that this year’s nominees were all girls. That has never happened before. The girls are a dynamic group of girl power. Each is a leader among their classrooms and their 146 first grade peers.

Lima Primary staff are very proud of their little leaders. They have so much to offer in the years to come!
