One hundred and nineteen Lima Republicans turned out to vote at the party’s caucus and selected Republican nominee Colleen Allen by a resounding 58 to 42 percent majority over non-party affiliated contender Michael Falk.
Allen will appear on the Republican line of the November ballot for the town supervisor position being vacated by Pete Yendell who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Allen’s supporters cited her record of community involvement, experience serving multiple terms on Lima’s village and town planning boards and board of assessment review, and work experience in the field of accounting as leading reasons for their preference.
Additionally, several Lima Republicans seeking re-election for four year terms were nominated without contest: Bruce Mayer and Bill Carey for Town Councilperson, Keith Arner for Highway Superintendent, Elvira Luhowy and Harold Harris, Town Justice.
