This fall, the Mendon Public Library will have three new community members at the table, setting policy and guiding our library in its mission to “to inspire and connect you to the stories you want, the information you need, and the community you seek.”
Anne-Marie Gordon, Craig Moscicki, and Cristina Romig, have stepped forward recently to assist current board members Molly Brazak, Melissa Jacobs, Bruce Peckham, and Larry Young.
Anne-Marie Gordon, a village resident for the last 15 years, is a professional librarian and longtime Friends of the Library volunteer. Craig Moscicki recently moved to the area and looks to share his expertise in technology (he’s a senior systems analyst at SUNY Geneseo) and communication. Cristina Romig, a Mendon resident, brings her business acumen and marketing abilities with her as library trustee.
Bruce Peckman, President of the Board of Trustees, said, “We’re very fortunate indeed to have these three new community members working with us for the betterment of the Mendon Public Library. We’re proud of the Library and its role in this community. We feel that our Board is well positioned to continue and grow that good work.”
At any given time, a five- to eleven-member Board of Trustees governs the Mendon Public Library. The trustees are responsible for establishing written policies to govern and guide all aspects of library service. This includes future planning for the library, financial accountability, setting policies, and hiring a director for the library.
Those interested in serving on the Board of Trustees are encouraged to contact Laurie Guenther, Mendon Public Library Director, 585-624-6067 or laurie.guenther@libraryweb.org.
