Honeoye Falls-Lima High School honored its latest group of inductees into the school’s National Honor Society chapter during a ceremony on January 28 at the high school auditorium.
The 61 inductees joined an existing group of 50 members. After an introduction by co-advisor Mrs. Nicole Glavin and welcoming remarks by NHS President Michael Ruff, four officers from the NHS gave short speeches about the different aspects of NHS. Secretary Maeve Connors spoke about character, Vice President/Academics Lucinda Neff spoke about scholarship, Vice President/Service Natalie Gilbert spoke about service and Treasurer Samuel Jokl spoke about leadership.
Mr. Andrew Corey, a biology teacher at the high school, was the keynote speaker this year.
After the keynote speech, the new members were introduced by Ruff and Neff and asked to come to the front of the stage where they signed the school’s NHS book and received their certificates and congratulations. The new members are Ryleigh Abell, Ariana Alguire, Maren Allen, Abram Armes, Collin Bailey, Raegan Banker, Linden Bellizzi, Jason Bennett, Amy Bianchi, Addison Boggio, Wilson Bond, Lillian Carey, Louden Cates, Jonathan Clark, Nathan Conrad, Peterah Deisenroth, Grace Elliott, Grayson Etter, Brian Fanning, Emily Fay,
Brian Finn, Lukas Fischer, Blake Fisher, Andy Fosler, Eleanor Fowler, Grace Francis, Emerson Gardner, Emeline Good, Grady Goodberlet, Melina Grasso, Brooke Gruschow, Aaron Gurell, Kyla Gurell, Emily Hart, Alexa Hoffman, Maxwell Houle, Arianna Iorio, Emily Lawrence, Ryan Lippincott, Lindsay Mason, Brooklyn Masters, Savannah McMaster, Cade Merrill, Haley Morrison, Oliver Myers, Teagan Naber, Oliver Osterling, Rebecca Rozzi, Shane Samson, Mabel Schickler, Irene Sesnie, Olivia Smith, Kailyn Snavlin, Madison Spaulding, Michael Spaulding, Brody Swan, Richard Swan, Chelsie Wells, Ava Yusko, Ava Zeh and Olivia Zuber.
After the new members had been inducted, they recited the NHS oath following the lead of Ruff. There were concluding remarks and parents were invited to take photos of their student. Some of them, however, had to rush off due to playing in the home boys basketball game against Eastridge while others were on their way to rehearsal for the school musical.
