Christopher Carosa, co-founder and publisher of the Mendon-Honeoye Falls-Lima Sentinel was elected to the New York Press Association’s Board of Directors. “Established in 1853, the New York Press Association (NYPA) is the oldest press association in the country, representing 695 newspapers including 68 daily newspapers, 514 weekly newspapers, and 127 ethnic newspapers,” says Michelle Rea, Executive Director of the NYPA. She adds, “Chris Carosa, representing the newspapers comprising the Western region of New York State, will serve as a voice for rural, suburban and urban newspapers, including small weeklies and major metro dailies. NYPA is an unapologetic and relentless champion for newspapers and their affiliated news websites and part of its mission is to educate and inform the public about the indispensable value of newspapers and local journalism.” Mr. Carosa is currently serving in the final year of his term as President of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
