We would like to welcome the newest business to the hamlet of Mendon, namely Dahlia Esthetics which is located at 3905 Rush Mendon Road. Ironically this is the same building I wrote about in the last installment of my Mendon Tour series when I reviewed the history of the Mendon fire department as part of the Sentinel’s salute to the MFD and the carnival. That would be the small blue building that sits up close to the road, five doors from the 4-corners on the south side of Rush Mendon Road.

The owner of this new business, which I found truly intriguing, is one vivacious lady named Sophia Grace. She opened the business in August 2021. So what exact talents is Sophia gracing the hamlet with? Sophia is a licensed esthetician and a three-time certified lash artist specializing in classic, wispy classic, and hybrid volume lash extensions. She also offers skin and Reiki treatments.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing, a type of alternative medicine. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a “universal energy” is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.

Sophia incorporates crystal healing as well into some skin treatments and all Reiki treatments. Aroma therapy is used throughout the experience to offer a calming vibe during the session. Space is here for clients not only to receive beauty services but to offer a place with healing and calm energy

Sophia feels that the quaint ambiance of the small historic building she occupies makes it the perfect setting to take advantage of her services. She said, “When I first started out I was doing my lashing in my bedroom at home or in the homes of my clients. To have my own place in Mendon is truly a dream come true.” Sophia can be contacted at 857-1001, or through her website at https://dahlia-esthetics.square.site, to arrange an appointment.
