The Rev. Jim Trimble has been called as the new rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Honeoye Falls. The congregation had been without a full-time priest since August 2022.

Fr. Jim comes to the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester after serving churches in Kentucky and South Carolina. Originally from Louisville, Trimble’s previous career was in public radio. He entered seminary in 2002 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2005. His spouse, Nancy Gift, has just started as the new Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension Wayne County. They’ve made their New York home in Newark. Between them, they have three grown children, one dog, and six cats.

“The Search Committee and Vestry members at St. John’s have done great work in discerning candidates for this position,” says Trimble. “I am looking forward to continuing the good work that’s been going on here for quite some time, especially getting to know the Village and its people.”

St. John’s has been serving the community since 1840 and its church building is on the New York State and National Register of Historic Places. Services of Holy Eucharist begin at 10am on Sundays – in the sanctuary, via Zoom, and on the church’s Facebook page.
