Town of Mendon Supervisor John Moffitt is delighted to announce the appointment of Corey Gates as Building Inspector/Code Enforcement. The appointment was official at a February town board meeting.

In his new role, Gates will have the responsibility for ensuring that all buildings and properties are in compliance with Town ordinances and zoning laws.  He will determine the structural soundness of buildings and construction projects throughout the Town of Mendon.

Gates is a graduate of Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School and attended Monroe Community College before starting CT Gates Construction, Inc. a structural contracting company in 1996.  Prior to accepting his new position Gates was active in the construction and building industry and brings to the table over 25 years of trade knowledge and experience with a proven track record of success.

When not working he enjoys skiing, sailing and playing and coaching baseball with his two daughters Olivia (12) Allison (10) and wife Elizabeth. Dedication and commitment to the community is fueled through his vested interest as a long-time resident having lived in Mendon since 1975.  Throughout the 90’s, Gates lived and worked in the community and served as Chair of the Environmental Conservation Board.  Having gained a wealth of knowledge relating to responsible land use decision making and procedures for Development, we are confident that he will be an excellent match for this position and a strong asset to the Town of Mendon.

Now that town hall is open again, please stop in and make a point of welcoming him to our Building Department office located in Room (B) at the Town Hall, 16 West Main Street. He can also be reached at (585) 624-6066 or buildinginspector@townofmendon.org.
