The heat is on and soon the library fireplace will be fully functioning, too at the Mendon Public Library. The shelves are loaded with oodles of new books as you begin to hunker down and get cozy in your homes with a few good reads. For everyone’s safety, library staff continue to limit capacity during open hours and require everyone to wear a mask, sign in and sanitize. Stop by the MPL on Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 8 pm and Friday and Saturday, 10 am – 3 pm. Right now, they are encouraging visits of 30 minutes or less to keep capacity down and safety front and center. Furthermore, no food or drink is currently allowed in the library.

As everyone adjusts to life during COVID-19, staff wanted to check in and make sure you’re up to date on MPL happenings and find out what they can do to serve you better. Please take the 5-question survey to help them help you. The survey is on their website, mendonlibrary.org.

Story Time for preschoolers and their caretakers continues to take place on Tuesday mornings at 10 am at the Village Gazebo in Harry Allen Park. Stop by any Tuesday for a few stories, some songs, and a simple craft. Don’t forget to dress for the weather and wear your masks.

Since staff are not currently holding programs at the library, they’re working on ways to reach out and connect to folks in the community. Look for “Take & Make” Craft Kits for Children when you’re at the library, including a special Halloween Craft – Clothespin Button Bats! Maybe check out a bat book, too!
