The Livingston County Historical Society Museum and SUNY Geneseo invite you to explore the milestone of America 250 through Indigenous perspectives. Titled “Indigenous Perspectives on America 250: The Clinton-Sullivan Campaign, Genocide, and Dispossession in Western New York”, this special panel discussion will feature members of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, and scholars of Native American history.
Together, panelists will bring their knowledge, experiences, and scholarship to a conversation surrounding American history.
Featured Panelists are Arrell Stephen Henhawk — Cornell University; Dr. Kurt Anders Jordan — Cornell University; Dr. Maeve Kane — University at Albany; Grandell “Bird” Hallett Logan — Tonawanda Seneca Nation; Dr. Michael Leroy Oberg — SUNY Geneseo; David Shongo — Seneca Nation of Indians and Dr. Andrea Smith — Lafayette College.
The program will be on Saturday, September 12 at 3:00 PM at Doty Recital Hall on the SUNY Geneseo Campus. Space is limited and seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis.
